A delegation led by Professor Mohamed Yacoub Janabi, who was recently appointed as the WHO Regional Director for Africa, held discussions with the Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba, on regional and national health sector cooperation and implementation.
The Chinese government has donated 321,000 doses of cholera vaccine to Ethiopia.
At the handover ceremony, the Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba, thanked the Chinese people and government for their support, saying that this support demonstrates the strong partnership between the two countries. The Minister, who requested that the support be continued, expressed her belief that the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the health sector will continue to be strengthened.
The UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT), conducted the country’s first full-scale emergency medical field exercise under the theme “From Resilient Public Health Disaster Management to a Complete Center of Excellence.”
