Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba stated that the governments of Ethiopia and the United States have been jointly executing multifaceted cooperation works in the health sector for a long time, and noted that results have been achieved particularly in expanding digital health services, preventing malaria epidemics, expanding maternal and child health, as well as curbing the spread of TB and HIV/AIDS.
She also requested that the United States strengthen its ongoing support for Ethiopia's efforts to fully achieve the sustainable health development goals by enhancing primary healthcare services to create a strong health system in the future.
Dr. Mamadi Yilla, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Department of State, expressed the US government's strong commitment to supporting Ethiopia's health sector and assured that their support would continue to strengthen and reinforce ongoing development efforts in the future.
Finally, the delegation visited the digital health, innovation, health information and consultation, and public relations and communication studios located at the Ministry of Health headquarters and observed the ongoing reforms being carried out in each sector.
