H.E. Mrs. Seharla Abdulahi is the State Minister of Health of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. She is an experienced public health professional and public servant with extensive experience in health policy, governance, and institutional leadership.
Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, H.E. Mrs. Abdulahi holds a Master's degree in Public Health. She began her professional career as a health professional, serving in both the public and private health sectors before transitioning into public service and national leadership.
Throughout her career, she has championed initiatives that improve public health, women's empowerment, and community development. She coordinated and implemented women-centered and income-generating programs for faith-based organizations, mobilizing resources and establishing sustainable skills development initiatives that strengthened the social and economic resilience of women. She also led hygiene and sanitation programs aimed at improving community health and preventing communicable diseases.
H.E. Mrs. Abdulahi was elected to the House of Peoples' Representatives for two consecutive terms. During her parliamentary service, she served as Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Women and Children Affairs, contributing to the ratification of key proclamations, including legislation related to adoption and the Maputo Protocol. She also represented Ethiopia as a member of the Pan-African Parliament.
She previously served as State Minister of Health, where she contributed to the implementation of Ethiopia's national health priorities and represented the Ministry at national, regional, and international forums. In 2022, she was appointed Director General of the Petroleum and Energy Authority, where she led institutional reforms to improve regulatory efficiency and supported Ethiopia's transition toward a green economy by advancing policies for electric mobility and related investments.

Mrs. Seharla Abdulahi currently serves as the State Minister of Health, providing strategic leadership in advancing Ethiopia's health sector transformation, strengthening healthcare delivery, promoting public health, and supporting the country's efforts toward achieving universal health coverage and sustainable development.
