Discussions were held on various health topics in the presence of the Ethiopian delegation during the side events of the #WHA79 in Geneva, Switzerland.


​At the side event co-organized by Ethiopia, Rwanda, Guinea, Nepal, and partner entities regarding emergency and surgical medical services, Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba shared Ethiopia's experience in a briefing, stating that strengthening and making patient-centered emergency surgical care accessible is highly crucial to ensure universal health coverage and health security.


​On the other hand, Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba, during a discussion held with representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed gratitude for the organization's technical and comprehensive support to develop cancer treatment and radiotherapy services in Ethiopia, and requested the organization to support the Ministry of Health's ongoing efforts to expand this service to regions.


​Members of the Ethiopian delegation, for their part, attended and delivered messages at side events where discussions were held on countries working in cooperation by strengthening cross-border surveillance and control to achieve the goal set to eradicate malaria and neglected tropical diseases, country experiences regarding autoimmune disease treatment, integrated health insurance and humanitarian service, digital health, as well as other health issues.
