Dr. Mekdes briefed the delegation on the ongoing preparations, schedule, and related logistical matters for the assembly, expressing her delight that the World Health Organization selected Ethiopia to host the regional meeting.


For his part, Prof. Mohamed Janabi stated that after touring and evaluating the event arrangements, he observed that security, venue setup, and transport provisions are in excellent order. He also expressed full confidence that the conference will be conducted successfully.


Furthermore, they held discussions regarding public health emergencies and the control of cross-border diseases in Africa, deliberating on the key African health issues that will be raised during the summit.


Delegates representing various African countries and international organizations are expected to attend the 76th WHO Regional Committee for Africa session.
