Ethiopian field epidemiology and laboratory Training program was started in 2009 and expanded from one university to eight universities and 45 field bases. Since its inception, the advanced field epidemiologist graduates (surveillance and response workforce) number has become over 700 nationally

The program which is now the largest globally had applied for global accreditation and accordingly made the necessary preparations for the past one year. In July 2022 a team from Atlanta, USA came and made assessments and verifications based on international standards. 

It is a good opportunity that Ethiopia is out of the list of 33 countries where drug-resistant TB is prevalent.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadese, said that Ethiopia is working on the international drug-resistant TB prevention action plan. The Honorable Minister said this at the East Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) Annual TB Testing Laboratory Strengthening Forum. The Minister stated that the work done in the field of TB prevention in our country is showing an encouraging change and also mentioned that it is a good opportunity for Ethiopia to be out of the list of 33 countries where drug-resistant TB is prevalent in the world.

The 16th annual conference of the Ethiopian Orthopedic Physicians Association was held in Addis Ababa under the theme "Post-War and Orthopedic Medicine".

The State Minister of Health, Dr. Ayele Teshome, who was the guest of honor at the conference, said that the members of the association, both individually and as an institution, have contributed and are contributing to save the lives of the brave Ethiopian army members who are suffering from man-made and natural disasters, especially in war. It is necessary to focus on the identification, diagnosis and treatment of TB disease in children and young people, to achieve the plan set by the continuous development goal to prevent TB disease by 2030.

The Honorable Dr. Lia Tadese, the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, stated this at the 72nd World Health Organization forum on the African continent, which is being held in Lome, Togo. She said that since the TB disease roadmap for children and young adults approved in Ethiopia in 2015 started to be implemented, the prevention and treatment of children and young adults from TB disease has improved.

The Ethiopian delegation is participating in the seventy-second session World Health Organization #RC72AFRO on the African continent, which started today in Lome, Togo.  

                     
This the seventy-second African continental organization is one of the six continental governing bodies of the World Health Organization and it is a committee representing the countries of the African region with 47 member countries. At the forum, the names of sub-committees for global health in Africa will be named.

2015 E.C HIV/AIDS prevention and control plan promotion and consultation forum has been held

This year's annual national HIV/AIDS prevention and control plan is prepared by coordinating regional and city government health offices and HIV/AIDS prevention and control offices, sector offices and other stakeholders. Director of the Directorate of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Hiwot Solomon, said that this is a consultation forum to help evaluate the performance of the 2014 fiscal year and to help plan the 2015 fiscal year together and accelerate the next steps.
