Dr. Abas Hassen Yesuf is a Senior Public Health Specialist who has been serving as the Lead Executive Officer (LEO) for Health System Innovation and Quality (HSIQ) since November 2022. He is currently in charge of the national health System innovation, quality, and safety, equity, and leadership programs.
Dr. Abas has extensive clinical and leadership experience from serving in a variety of healthcare and health-related settings at various levels of the health sector and tiers of the healthcare system. In his previous role was Director for Clinical Services in the Ministry of health, Ethiopia since 2019. Prior to that he was Director for Medical Services in Addis Ababa City Administration Health Bureau. He was also Head of Curative and Rehabilitative Services in Sub-city Health Department for leading and coordination the primary health care and was Public Health Practitioner in the Health Centre.
Dr Abas is an avid researcher and a board member of multiple organizations. He obtained a PhD in Public health from University of South Africa, a Master’s of International Public Health (IMPH) from Tsinghua University in China and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health.
