The Ministry of Health launched a tree planting event with the motto "Our imprint for our generation, our green plant for our health!"

The tree planting program was launched today at the Ethiopian Physical Support Service (Gefersa Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center). The Ministry of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, said the Ministry of Health and its institutions have started planting more than 50,000 seedlings in the summer of 2022.


Ethiopian Physical Support Service (Gefersa Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center) plans to plant 20,000 edible seedlings. In addition, the development and expansion works carried out by the center include the implementation of urban agriculture, as well as the provision of medical services had been visited. It is said that this will enable the center to supply food to the center on its own.


In her speech, Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse, said the green project is being carried out for the fourth time in Ethiopia; it is a significant contribution to the health sector, she specified. Edible fruit and vegetable seedlings have been planted at the Ethiopian Nutrition Service premises; Dr. Lia said on the occasion this will help prevent disease and will play a key role in making nutrition accessible to patients.


According to Dr. Tariku Tadesse, General Manager of the Ethiopian Physical Support Service, the center has been planting trees under the motto "Our fingerprint for our generation". He also said that they will take care of the planted seedlings and renovate the houses of the poor and support low-income students with educational materials.
