The Ministry of Health and responsible institutions have launched a program to rehabilitate the homes of the indigent through summer volunteering in Lideta sub-city, district 5. The program has been launched by the Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadese
Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadese, Minister of State Dr. Ayele Tessome and officials of the respondent institutions and other officials and employees were present at the program.
Together with the Ministry of Health and the respondent institutions, 12 houses will be built for the disabled in Addis Ababa and 5 houses in the regions in this year's schedule. “This is a good work that develops a culture of mutual support and imparts good values to the future generation," said Minister Dr. Lia Tadese.
In this year's winter volunteer work, apart from renovating the houses of the underprivileged, seedlings are being planted. The minister also said that it has planned to provide free medical services to the low-income sections of the society across the country.
It should be remembered that in the 2014 schedule, the Ministry of Health and the responsible institutions built and handed over 22 homes for the destitute in Addis Ababa and the regions.
