In the fiscal year 2014, various summer volunteer activities are being carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.


The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadese, has launched a program to rehabilitate the homes of the vulnerable in Gambella town, through the summer voluntary service. With this, the house of 5 unfortunate people will be completely renovated.

The Ministry of Health and responsible institutions have launched a program to rehabilitate the homes of the indigent through summer volunteering in Lideta sub-city, district 5. The program has been launched by the Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadese 


Minister of Health Dr. Lia Tadese, Minister of State Dr. Ayele Tessome and officials of the respondent institutions and other officials and employees were present at the program.

Delivery of highly needed medicines, health and nutrition supplies to Tigray region has continued.

Providing health services to all citizens is one of the primary tasks of the Ethiopian government. The Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia clearly mentions the issue of access to health services for every citizen.


In this regard, the Ethiopian government is working together with international partner organizations to provide urgent support for health services so that the health and humanitarian needs of our communities affected by the conflict in different parts of our country is met. 

A recognition and handover program was held at Millennium Covid 19 Treatment and Emergency Response Center

The Ministry of Health handed over the Addis Park (Millennium Hall) which had been used as a Covid 19 medical and emergency response center for the past two years to MEDROCK Investment Group.


The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, said when she handed over the center to MEDROCK Investment Group, in the last two years, there have been many ups and downs to prevent the covid 19 epidemic. She mentioned that, “although the problem caused by Covid 19 has not stopped today, we are happy to have made it to this day and to be able to hand over the Millennium Medical Center”.

Members of the House of Representatives said that they will do their part to expand family planning services.

This was stated at the Ministry of Health's public awareness forum for the members of the House of Representatives regarding access, success and gaps in family planning services. Speaking at the forum, the State Minister of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma, said that providing family planning services is the most important way to save the lives of women and children. He stated that attention should be given to making this service accessible.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided medical supplies to the Ministry of Health to help improve the health of mothers and infants.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided medical supplies worth 31,076,584 birr to the Ministry of Health. The funding provided by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) under the facilitation of UNICEF to improve maternal and infant health in Benshangul Gumuz and Afar regions; and medical equipment and motorcycles for transportation had been handed over to the Minister of Health.
