Gratitude and recognition program

Gratitude and recognition program has been organized by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense for the contribution of health institutions, health care professionals and various stakeholders who contributed to the law enforcement and survival campaign in our country.


The guest of honor at the program was the Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, he made the remark, Health professionals and healthcare professionals have three identities as human beings, Ethiopians and health professionals. "Thank you very much for your great fight," he said.


Dr. Abiy Ahmed explains the three identities: “As a human being, you have saved not only the people but also the wounded enemy. As Ethiopians, you have shown us the cornerstone of being Ethiopian with great courage and determination, in a war zone where it is difficult to help people. You have fulfilled your duty to save the people who have taught you, the health professionals. On behalf of the Ethiopian government: I would like to express my gratitude to you personally," he said.


The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, for her part, said that, “we have been forced to go to war in the northern part of the country over the past year due to the obvious challenges of existence. However, despite the challenges we faced, due to our unity and solidarity, our patriotism and strong leadership in various sectors, we were able to overcome many of them without compromising our goals. We are still crossing it," she said.


The Ministry of Health has established a task force since the start of the war, working day and night to provide the necessary medicines and medical equipment. It has been working in various fields to provide the expected national response by demonstrating its solidarity with the Defense Forces: the Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, announced.
She noted that health professionals, health facilities and caregivers have played a key role during this difficult time. She thanked them for supporting the defense and other security forces and for their contribution to the delivery, treatment and care of war victims.


Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Armed Forces, expressed his gratitude for the gratitude and Recognition program. Field Marshall adds that health professionals have served as soldiers during the war. On behalf of the defense, he thanked the health professionals for fulfilling their responsibility by taking care of, treating and rescuing the wounded. He also thanked all those who participated in the accreditation program and deliver his message of appreciation to their colleagues on their return.


Regional and city health bureaus, zonal health departments, hospitals, universities and colleges, blood banks, pharmaceutical services, the Ethiopian Red Cross, Defense and Federal Police Hospitals and other stakeholders, had received recognition and certificates from the Ministry of Health Dr. Lia Tadesse, Chief of Staff Field Marshal Berhanu Jula and Minister of Defense Dr. Abraham Belay.
